Specialist Building Restoration & Construction
Our family company has a tradition restoring and converting buildings that goes back many years. We have honest working relationships with industry professionals, local authorities and most importantly our clients.
Our approach in this area is not that of a modern building contractor. Our enthusiasm, expertise and dedication, combined with the quality of our craftsmanship enables us to deliver projects from the humble to the grand.
Restoring and converting buildings is in our blood. We have honest working relationships with industry professionals, local authorities and most importantly our clients.
A sympathetic and sensitive approach to our work enables us to complete many of the awkward and unusual situations these types of projects will present.
We take great care to recycle, re-use and reclaim materials. This compliments the structure and surrounding areas thus minimising our impact on what should remain a natural environment. The same should be considered with areas such as building regulations and structural integrity, we will offer you practical benefits with a minimised visual impact.
We give great care to understand our clients vision, and our network of professionals understand the way we work. This allows us to be both humble and certain of delivering your project from the early stages of consultation and planning right through to the final stages of completion.
Our involvement with buildings ranges from historical and listed to barn conversions & mills. Our diverse portfolio of work can make us your ideal choice, however simple or complex.
In 2010 we were asked to visit Normandy to save an oak timber framed building. It was badly damaged and had fallen against a tree, the king post truss was also missing. But for the tree the building would have been on the ground. Using ropes and without the aid of machinery, we got the structure ready for French builders to commence its refurbishment.
What our clients say
Can I on behalf of the Black Country Museum pass on our thanks to you and your team for at short notice successfully carrying out the removal of large and heavy collection objects from Hall 1 at the Museum.
The help and assistance from Jim and Oliver throughout the project was invaluable particularly given some of the technical and logistical challenges we occurred.
Again please thanks all your team involved.
Holland Contracting worked for me for many years on the recording, dismantling and reconstruction of historical buildings being saved for the Black Country Living Museum.
In 2009 they were our first choice to manage the time critical rescue of Birmingham Road Buildings, including Hobbs Fish & Chip Shop and the adjoining gentleman's outfitters known as Morrall’s.
Holland Contracting always carried out excellent work, often within very tight financial time and quality restraints.
Over the past few years Holland Contracting have carried out various works both off site and on site at the Museum. They have undertaken these tasks with enthusiasm and diligence and the Black Country Museum thank you for your achievements in completing these construction projects.
We were so impressed with the manner in which you and your team worked here at Elmfield.
We would describe you as accommodating and polite builders. Nothing was too much trouble.
